Champaqui Hill

ITS IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT Cerro Champaquí is classified as risky areas since its ascent presents high mountain conditions.

Every year, thousands of people come to the mountains in search of reaching the roof of Córdoba. The “Champa” represents a challenge for walkers who are entering mountaineering or simply for those who want to live the experience for one time only.

Its summit is at 2790 meters above sea level and is the highest in the province of Córdoba.
When walking the trails it is possible to see the native flora such as Tabaquillos and Maytén, pristine streams, granite formations and extensive valleys.
From the top the view is panoramic, and leaves the adventurers who reach their peak breathless .... you can see the Traslasierras Valley to the west and the Calamuchita Valley to the east.

The traditional ascent is through Villa Alpina and this path takes 3 days. The access trail begins with a footprint within a pine forest.
The first day, the walk ends at the base of the hill on the banks of the Tabaquillo River, it is possible to spend the night in shelters or tents. On the second day there is a summit and we return to the camp. While the third day begins the return to Villa Alpina.
This is a true experience in contact with the mountains, sleeping in shelters and taking advantage of the time to connect with nature.
